The Citizens Police Academy will be offered again this year through the Erie Police Department. This is a great opportunity for the citizens of Erie to aquire first hand information about their Police Department.
The purpose of the eleven week Citizen’s Police Academy is to offer first hand information to the public on the day to day operations of the Erie Police Department. Citizens who sign up for the class will be given a handbook, attend demonstrations and hear from a variety of Erie Police Department Representatives.
The classes are free and sponsored by the Erie Police Department. Topics included are Patrol, Criminal Investigation, K-9, Community Oriented Policing (Quebec Unit and Neighborhood Action Team), Animal Enforcement, Identification Unit, Community Affairs and many more.
Classes are every Thursday from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm starting February 9, 2012 for 11 consecutive weeks.
Classes are at the Palumbo Academic Center, 824 Peach Street.
Applications can be obtained in person at the Erie Police Department or using the link below. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
