The “Happiest 5K on the Planet” Will Mark its Second Year in Downtown Erie August 8
The Erie Sports Commission is pleased to announce The Color Run will return to Downtown Erie for the second time on Saturday, August 8, 2015. The run, dubbed “The Happiest 5K on the Planet,” saw a sell-out crowd of 10,900 participants in its first year in Erie. The stop will be part of the event series’ “Shine Tour 2015.

The Friends of the Larry R. Fabrizi Dog Park group have solidified themselves as an active and organized group. They brought together surrounding neighbors, dog park supporters, dog care professionals, interested citizens, City Council, and the City of Erie Administration to achieve the primary goal of providing a dog park facility for the dogs and dog lovers throughout our community.

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program deadline to apply for a rebate on property taxes or rent paid in 2014 has been extended from June 30 until Dec. 31, 2015. Rebates still will be distributed beginning on July 1.
The rebate program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians age 65 and older; widows and widowers age 50 and older; and people with disabilities age 18 and older. The income limit is $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 annually for renters, and half of Social Security income is excluded.
