City of Erie residents and visitors are reminded that the City’s winter odd-even parking regulations go into effect on Tuesday, November 1st, 2016 and will continue through Friday, March 31st, 2017
. During this time, parking will be permitted on only one side of the street in designated areas, depending on the date (whether it is an odd or even numbered day).
Please take an opportunity to make yourself aware of parking regulations, posted throughout Erie’s neighborhoods. Odd-even parking will be in effect from 8:00AM to 4:00PM on weekdays
; however, in the event a SNOW-EMERGENCY is declared, odd-even parking regulations will be enforced throughout a weekend when deemed necessary.

State Street will be closed to thru traffic between Noth and South Park Row beginning at approximately 5:00PM, and will reopen at 7:30PM.

The City of Erie Department of Community and Economic Development will be transitioning to new leadership on September 6, 2016. This comes after Kim Green, who led that department from January 2006 to November 2011 and then again from September 2014 to the present, announced her resignation. Mrs. Green not only served as the Director of Community and Economic Development for the City for 7 years but also served as the Executive Director of the Redevelopment Authority for three years.

On April 26, 2016 the Fire Department of the City of Erie received
the latest Public Protection Classification (PPC) from Insurance Service Office, Inc. (ISO).
Prior to today’s announcement, the city earned its most recent ISO rating in April 2014. Based
on a scale of one – ten, with ‘one’ being the best rating, the City of Erie was awarded a Class 2
ISO rating in 2014, and was rated a Class 3 in 2007. Today, we are very pleased to announce the
City of Erie’s rating has been upgraded to a Class 1.

At 10:30 a.m. today, Mayor Sinnott announced the City’s Street Improvement Program for the 2016 Construction Season. It includes milling and asphalt resurfacing of curbed and non-curbed asphalt streets, full depth reclamation of asphalt streets, crack sealing and resurfacing of concrete streets, asphalt patching, general crack sealing, curb damage repairs and painting of traffic lines and crosswalks. In addition, Bureau of Streets daily operations such as street sweeping, installation of street signs, street light surveys, alley repairs and pothole patching will be continuing.
