The City of Erie’s Department of Public Works would like to remind residents whose regular refuse pick-up night is Wednesday or Thursday that their refuse pick-up will be delayed one (1) night during the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s. Refuse collection in the Wednesday night area will move to Thursday night, while Thursday night refuse pick-up will take place on Friday night. Residents whose regular collection is Sunday night through Tuesday night will not see a change.
Also, the City’s annual Christmas tree collection will begin Sunday, December 28th and run until Thursday, January 22nd. Residents are to place their live Christmas tree, free from decorations curbside the same evening as their regularly scheduled collection night.
October has long been recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Once again Mayor Joseph E. Sinnott will turn the water in the Perry Square fountain pink throughout the month of October as a reminder of the importance of education, early detection and treatment of breast cancer. Join us for the 12:00 PM program in East Perry Square on Friday, October 3rd.
