The Property & Evidence Division is responsible for the handling and safekeeping of all evidence and property within the Police Department.

The decision to release evidence must be made by the court, often in the form of a court order. The release of such evidence must also be accompanied by a signature from the District Attorney’s office or the arresting officer.

Property can be claimed without a court order, but it must be identified by the owner before its release. A serial number is the best way to claim property.

A valid photo ID is required to pick up all evidence and property.
